CHRISTIAN EDUCATION & SUNDAY SCHOOL

The purpose and goal of this ministry is to provide directions to accomplish the vision for Christian Education and the Sunday Church School in Puritan Missionary Baptist Church by conducting programs for advancement in leadership education which includes finding and selecting workers as well as training new and existing workers. Our teachers prepare an evangelistic impact that will win souls to Christ. The Sunday School began as an educational endeavor; however, it has become an evangelistic enterprise. Every teacher and staff member must know how to lead a person to Christ, must be involved in searching for the unsaved, and bringing them under the teaching of the Word of God. Regular teacher meetings are held to broaden the scope of studying the bible. Additionally, we reach out, discover and attend workshops, seminars, and conferences that will be fruitful for individual advancement and ministry. Efforts have been started for the growth of the Sunday Church School classes, ages three through the adults. The entire membership is encouraged to participate or commit themselves to teaching. The joy will be yours.

SENIOR & JUNIOR USHER BOARDS

Our purpose is Sacredness, Reverence, Service, and Evangelism. Our objective is to reach the highest goal that we, the Puritan Missionary Baptist Church Ushers, can reach as forerunners for the Lord. We are dedicated to full cooperation as we usher together at all functions. Having a willing attitude, go about performing duties quietly, so others may see the togetherness so they too may want to serve and have the joy as doorkeepers in the House of the Lord. In order to reach our goals, we must love the Lord, love one another, pray together, work together, think positive, talk positive, act positive, keep positive attitudes, and always smile; as we may win some “souls” to Christ and our mission shall be accomplished. We gladly welcome new members!

MISSIONARY MINISTRY

Provides continuous development of the spiritual lives of young Christian women through a progressive and educational involvement in missions at all levels, with the soul purpose of strengthening and advancing the Kingdom of God. Our vision is to create spiritually strong role models that can lead, support, and provide a positive influence for young women in our church, community, and city; as well as regain those women that have been lost due to ineffective or non-existent ministries.

MEDIA MINISTRY

This ministry focuses on various communication tools to spread the Word of God and vital information that will empower the people of God. Through the audio ministry, the Word of God can be readily accessible to you. In addition, we have expanded our outreach through the use of a church newsletter. God is continuing to elevate this ministry, as we share with others information about various church ministries and invite people of all levels to come worship with us by utilizing television advertisements as well as maintaining the church website. Technology has allowed us the opportunity to reach the masses, and the ministries here at Puritan invite everyone to share in the powerful anointing that enriches so many lives.

If you are interested in hearing a portion of the preached Word of God at Puritan, please visit the Audio Sermon page. YOUTH DEPARTMENT

Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it. Proverbs 22:6

The Youth Ministry is not just there to give the kids something to do. It’s designed to be a training ministry. We teach the way of the Lord through song, Bible stories, scriptures, crafts, life lessons, other special activities and just by being available to fulfill a specific need in the spiritual lives of our young people. It is our aim to lead children and young people into seeing God in every aspect of our lives.

Lo, children are an heritage of the LORD...... Psalm 127:3a

As parents seek to raise their children in the fear and admonition of the Lord, the Youth Ministry of PMBC becomes a reinforcer, standing beside parents as they seek to build character and conviction in the lives of their children.

That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth; that our daughters may be as corner stones, polished after the similitude of a palace: Psalms 144:12

BROTHERHOOD

"To strengthen men through increased fellowship, outreach, and Ministry in a true effort to do its part in advancing the Kingdom of God." The brotherhood is a collection of God fearing male members of Puritan Missionary Baptist Church
whose sole purpose is to do its part in the advancement of the one and only ministry, the ministry of Jesus Christ. We accomplish this advancement in three facets, Fellowship, Outreach, and Ministry. It is the brotherhood's position that
these three key areas in men's lives are critical to the overall state of a righteous society by first starting with the leader God place at the head of HIS household.

GREETERS MINISTRY

Greeter’s Ministry is an extension of Bishop Grinstead. Our purpose is to greet and welcome as many visitors and members as possible. We extend a welcome at the 10:45am service and when we visit other churches, as well as provide a response after the welcome is extended. We are the hostesses and hosts of the church. We greet at the 8am and 10:45am service, standing at the entrance of the door, we extend a warm smile from the heart. It is so important to have a sincere smile and a loving attitude because we don’t know what type of mood a visitor or a member may be in. Remembering to be careful how you entertain a stranger for you may be entertaining an angel of the Lord in disguise. We also provide hospitality at church functions (i.e. Pastor’s Appreciation Service). For it is our mission to “Receive ye one another as Christ hath also received us to the glory of God.”

Our mission is to dedicate our time and energy towards impacting the lives of all singles by showing them how to embrace their singleness through fellowshipping and being empowered by the word of God. God has appointed us to be in this season of our lives for a reason and it is up to us to believe and acknowledge his word in order for Psalm 37:4 to manifest in the lives of those who are seeking a spouse. However, for singles who are not seeking a spouse, the bible says that "it is better you not to marry." (1Corinthians 7:8) We are an awesome ministry destined for greatness and will continue to focus on the will of God as we become prosperous and build healthy relationships.
